| I am saddened to receive this news. I first got to Kathy when she was a student in The Honors College at the University (when I was Dean). She was a lively and intelligent and wonderful presence. Over the years, she would let me hear from her, and she came in the summer to participate in a teacher workshop that the College sponsors for HISD teachers. And we would always visit, and I would be cheered by her smile, her liveliness, her commitment to making the world a better place. I was so very proud of
the recognition that she had received
as a teacher. She contributed much to her students and, I know, to her family. The world is the poorer for her not being here. I send my deepest sympathy and encouragement to her family.

| We will miss this truly special person who has been an inspiration of courage, generosity and faith for the many years I have known her. She has left this legacy for her sons and they are growing up to be fine young men. She is the best mother any boys could ever hope for and she will be watching over her boys forever. Barney said the world is a sadder place for Kathy leaving it. Until we meet again, we love you, precious Kathy. Kay & Barney Henley |

I do know that we will have our special Angel near us as we move forward adjusting to life without you here on earth. You are all the wonderful things said about you and so much more.
